Enhancing Student Performance by One Full Grade

Our students in Madrid were among the first to participate in an international pilot study incorporating AI learning technology. The use of AI has enhanced our students’ learning experience and academic outcomes in ways that were previously impossible, with learners achieving at least one grade higher in all subjects on average.

Our school uses AI with Century Tech’s digital platform, accessible from Year 3 to Year 11. It offers a tailored pathway that allows children to develop their knowledge of the English, Mathematics and Science syllabi by solidifying their learning. AI technology enables students to take control of their learning by working on engaging exercises at school and home, with subsequent activities recommended based on demonstrated knowledge. Teachers have real-time data on progress, so they can quickly identify which students need support or additional challenges to reach their full potential.

How Can AI Technology Boost Student Performance?

AI-powered learning tools encourage students to develop a thorough understanding of the subject matter. Our teachers use AI-assisted learning tasks to complement top-quality in-class tuition and accelerate student progress through personalised learning. These activities are allocated based on the curriculum requirements and current areas of study. Completion of these tasks provides teachers with valuable insight into students' ability levels in specific areas of the syllabus.

AI learning programmes offer a sequence of tasks that gradually increase in difficulty. Children work on a course of fun tasks that provide a sense of accomplishment, consolidating previous knowledge at their own pace. As a student progresses through each activity, their performance is recorded, informing the difficulty level of the subsequent exercises in the series. This approach motivates students as they view their progress, while also challenging them as they are introduced to new concepts that will prepare them for future lessons.

AI tools are seamlessly integrated into lesson planning and preparation, allowing teachers to utilise data-driven insights to create bespoke classroom activities that reinforce students' understanding of the curriculum.

Diagnostic Testing to Personalise Learning Pathways

The week before the exams is stressful for most students. In many schools, exam revision and preparation are done as a one-size-fits-all approach. At King’s La Moraleja, however, we strive to personalise the revision process and ease pressure on students and teachers while ensuring knowledge consolidation.

AI assessment tools have shown remarkable results. According to a recent survey in our member schools, 85% of academic staff have found that AI tools help diagnose students' strengths and identify areas where they need to improve. Using this data, teachers can create customised exercises that target specific areas that require more revision. This helps students to focus their efforts and achieve the best possible outcomes in formal examinations.

How Do AI Learning Platforms Work?

Inspired AI, powered by CENTURY Tech, is an online learning tool for students that combines artificial intelligence with the latest research in learning science and neuroscience. The platform identifies each student’s unique strengths, gaps in knowledge and misconceptions. They can log in and complete work that has been suggested for them by the advanced recommendation engine, or work that has been set by teachers.

Our learning platform is designed to facilitate AI-assisted education for children. The platform is organised into separate courses, each focused on a specific subject, and each subject is further divided into topics. During lessons, children are introduced to a particular topic, and can then explore it further through online AI-assisted activities. These online activities cover specific areas of the syllabus and can be accessed either at school or from home. The mini-lessons are presented in a fun and engaging way, with tutorials, audio recordings, and images.

The platform currently works with English, Mathematics and Science and we are excited to develop it further in other curriculum areas.
