At King's College La Moraleja, our team of educators, support staff, and leaders are all fully committed to providing the best learning experience and assistance to every student. 

Our teaching staff are the backbone of our educational offer, supporting and challenging learners to reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom. As a result of excellent tuition, preparation, and individualised guidance, our students achieve exceptional grades in external examinations.

All our educators are highly experienced and qualified, with many holding degrees from top universities worldwide, including Oxford and Cambridge. Additionally, many of our teachers possess Masters degrees in education. Most of our teaching staff are native English speakers, while those teaching in Spanish are native Spanish speakers. Mrs June Donnan

Head of School


Mrs Donnan is very proud to be the Headteacher of King’s College School in La Moraleja, having had a 35-year journey dedicated to inspiring and shaping young minds. 

For nearly three decades, she has been an integral part of the King’s Group Schools, holding a Master of Arts (MA) and a Master of Education (MEd) alongside achieving the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). She has also led Inspired Leadership courses globally, sharing her expertise and passion for educational excellence. The core of her educational ethos lies not only in ensuring excellent academic results but also in her deep commitment to the development of both students and staff, as well as fostering meaningful relationships within our school community. 

Accredited as a Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) trainer, she is dedicated to the wellbeing and mental health of all. She has lived in Madrid with her Spanish husband and daughter for more than thirty years and looks forward to meeting you when you visit our school.

SARAH GARRISON

Deputy Headteacher


Sarah Garrison is the Deputy Headteacher at King’s College School, La Moraleja. She joined the school in 2022 as Head of Secondary and was later appointed Deputy Head. During her leadership, the Secondary School achieved outstanding iGCSE results, ranking as the top-performing school within the Inspired network.
Previously, Sarah spent nine years at King’s College School, Soto de Viñuelas, where she served as Head of Faculty – Creative Arts, Acting Head, and Deputy Head of Boarding, gaining extensive academic and pastoral leadership experience.
Passionate about the Arts and committed to educational excellence, she is dedicated to developing independent, well-rounded, and globally minded students. Outside school, she enjoys cooking, football—especially supporting Arsenal—and mountain walking in the Sierra de Guadarrama.

PHILIPPA BROMHEAD

Head of Secondary


Philippa Bromhead joined this academic year after 11 years at King’s College School, Soto de Viñuelas, where she taught Key Stage 3 Science, GCSE Physics and A Level Psychology, and held a number of leadership roles, including Head of Psychology, Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator, Head of Year and Head of Sixth Form.

With over a decade of teaching experience, she is dedicated to academic excellence and strong pastoral care. Originally from Harrogate in the UK, she taught Science and Psychology there before moving to Madrid. Outside school, she enjoys spending time in nature and walking in the mountains.

 

 

 

Alexander

ALEXANDER KERSHAW

Acting Head of Primary


Alexander Kershaw is originally from the south coast of England. He studied Classical Civilisations in London before beginning his teaching career there, taking on roles including Subject Lead, Safeguarding Lead and Teacher Training Supervisor, as well as contributing to school improvement projects.
He has held leadership positions in schools in London, Spain and the UAE. After first joining King’s College La Moraleja in 2020, he returned in 2023 following further international leadership experience. He is currently completing the NPQH and holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.

Sibel

SIBEL AKYÜREK

Acting Deputy Head of Primary


Originally from Turkey and of mixed Turkish and English heritage, Sibel Akyürek is Acting Deputy Head of Primary at King’s College School, La Moraleja. She has been a dedicated teacher for the past seven years, gaining experience across the UK, Dubai and Madrid. In the UK, she taught Years 4 and 5 and served as PSHE Lead, reflecting her strong commitment to pupils’ personal, social and health education. In Dubai, she further developed her leadership skills as Head of Year 5 in a large school with approximately 300 pupils in each year group.

Since relocating to Madrid, she has taught a range of year groups, including Years 1, 2, 4 and 5. Last year, alongside teaching Year 1, she served as Assistant Head of Primary and played a key role in leading the school-wide implementation of the Reggio Emilia approach, a child-centred philosophy that promotes creativity and exploration.

CHRISTIAN BRADY

Director of Studies


Christian Brady is originally from Manchester. He holds an MSc and an MA in Education, both awarded with distinction, and has completed the NPQSL through University College London. He is preparing to begin a Doctorate in Education.

In his role, he oversees academic progress and curriculum development across the school, working closely with staff and pupils to maintain high standards of teaching and learning. He also teaches IGCSE Biology and Combined Science.

Christian brings ten years of experience from Benenden School, where he served as Director of Science and STEM, Head of Biology and Deputy Housemaster, and supported numerous pupils in securing Oxbridge places to study Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

 

Addriana

ANDRINA PROSPERE

Assistant Head of Secondary Pastoral 


Andrina is originally from St Lucia and has family ties to London, bringing an inclusive, empathetic and culturally aware leadership style shaped by her diverse background.

As Assistant Head of Secondary and a dedicated Mathematics teacher, she has extensive experience teaching GCSE, AAHL and AASL. She is committed to ensuring every pupil feels supported and challenged, with a strong focus on academic progress, wellbeing and building confidence in the classroom. She believes Mathematics develops critical thinking, resilience and independence — skills that benefit pupils far beyond school.

Andrina works closely with staff, pupils and families to maintain high standards, clear communication and a positive learning environment where students feel known and valued.
